The Most Important Things

The most important things to me are my family and my real estate career.  I try to spend as much time with my family as possible.  I live in Easley with my husband and son, Marty and Ryan.  I have lived in the Upstate for almost 30 years.  I just love this area!  I also have a daughter and son-in-law that live in Easley, Melissa and Michael, and two wonderful grandchildren, Dianna, and our new addition, Trent.

The Little House

My love for real estate began when I was five years old.  My grandmother, Myrtle Culclasure, was a librarian, and she brought me this wonderful book, "The Little House" by Virginia Lee Burton.  She would read me the story about this little yellow house.  The little house lived in the country and was very happy, it loved where it lived.  The city moved in and built up all around the house and the poor little house was sad. So people came and moved the house to the country and it was happy again and smiling.  Now, it's meant to be a happy ending but the impression that stayed with me forever was that the little yellow house had to leave the place it loved the most and that was sad.  From then on I wanted to make houses happy!

Why I Understand Your Experiences

We moved every four years when I was a child.  My father was in textiles and had to be relocated for his job. Once I learned what a real estate agent was and I saw how they made our houses happy when we moved into them I wanted to be a real estate agent!  This made me understand a child's perspective of moving, as well as relocating as an adult.  My experiences allow me to recognize what you're going through.  I am an expert in real estate transactions, as well as having an understanding of what you're going through as a buyer or seller!

I listened and learned from all the real estate agents that my father worked with as we were growing up.  They were my heroes.  I knew that when I grew up I wanted to be just like them.  I wanted to save all "the little house" of the world from having to move.  But I wanted to be different.  I wanted to give my clients something no one else can.  I wanted to give an experience, an advantage, an Edge that no one else could.  I wake up every morning and go to bed every evening thinking of new ways to improve what I do.  Whether it's thinking of new ideas to get a house sold or staying up late trying to find that perfect house for a client.  I take every class I can to be on top of every aspect of this business as possible.  And I have the perspective of a buyer and seller to understand what you're feeling.  That's why I'm unique, that's how I can say, with certainty, that you have an Edge when you work with me.

Why I'm So Devoted

So, I've always wanted to be a real estate agent but I waited.  My family is very important to me and I didn't to begin my real estate career until I could devote most all of my time and energy to it.  My children are old enough now that I am not away from them working all the time.  And I work a lot!  It takes a lot of effort and energy to do what I do and I am very fortunate to have a family that supports me.  I am constantly at homes, in my office, on the computer, and on my phone.  This is not a job for me; it's a love, a passion, a new adventure everyday!  I just love houses!  I love meeting new people, sharing their stories, and helping them achieve their dreams.

I wanted to take a moment to send this e-mail on behalf of Sheri Sanders. My house has been for sale for the past 16 months both by owner and with a Real Estate Company. I have never been one who has been fond of the real estate industry or real estate agents/brokers as I truly have never had one that I felt represented the best interests of me the customer/client. Sheri and I got acquainted via an e-mail I had sent looking for information not even related to Prudential. She e-mailed me and followed up with me immediately. When I explained to her that I was not interested in a real estate agent she apologized for the misunderstanding/inconvenience which she was not even responsible for. She then told me if I ever needed a realtor she would be happy to come and speak with me. Now, as I stated above I DO NOT LIKE REALTORS. In fact, I filed a complaint against a Real Estate Comnay, with the Licensing commission and almost had to get a restraining order against one of their agents. Sorry, I digress. With my situation of needing to sell my home I was truly running out of time and had spoken with another neighbor who Sheri represented. I figured nothing was happening by myself and at least if I was going to bite the bullet and get another realtor I might as well use the largest company in SC. Well, this time I hit the jackpot. Not only has Sheri responded quickly to my needs actually getting a contract on my house in 10 days from when we listed it but she has been helpful in other ways as well. During the negotiation of the price Sheri guided me to help me make the best decision. She gave me her true opinion on how she believed we should proceed but never bullied me into a choice. The couple purchasing my home has given us 20 days to pack up and get out. Sheri knew this was a problem as we are needing to rent for awhile and not buy and do not have any family in the south to move in with. Although it was not her responsibility to find me a rental home she explored many avenues to help out. As it turned out I found a great property to rent on my own but I know if I had not she would have done everything she could to make sure we had somewhere to go. During the 10 days on the market we had several really good showings. Sheri made sure to provide relevant feedback as quickly as possible. Unlike other realtors who wanted to point out flaws that they wanted to see fixed like a whole new paint job, or warranties, or closing costs etc. Sheri walked into my home, looked around and thought they were crazy. She said my house was in great shape and the little things I had done to make it more appealing like some new paint in rooms as needed (lived here 4 years with 2 young boys), new paint in garage, shutters, front door and reglazing my kitchen cabinets was more than enough. She also said that my house was immaculate and well cared for. This did more for me than anything else at a time when things have been so negative in my life. Sheri said that my home, decorations, yard etc. were beautiful and she couldn't understand why the house hadn't sold. I know why, lack of caring by other realtors!!!!!! . Although I feel bad that I cannot give Sheri more commission than she will get at the end of the month when we close I did feel the need to send this e-mail to you. I have already recommended and talked up Sheri to other neighbors who will be looking to sell in the near future and am hoping Sheri gets a shot with them. I know that word of mouth advertising by a satisfied customer is the ultimate goal of any good sales professional and trust me I speak a lot of words. I just wanted you to know how lucky you are to have Sheri on your team and am know that when I am ready to buy or sell again I will look to Sheri for her help.
